Hon. Mildred T. Negron

Hon. Mildred T. Negron is a judge in Family Court of the City of New York in Queens County.  She was appointed to the bench by Mayor Bill de Blasio in 2016.  Judge Negron earned a bachelor’s degree from City College at the City University of New York and continued her studies at the City University of New York School of Law, where she completed a J.D. in 1991 as part of an advanced BA/JD pogram. 

Prior to Judge Negron’s appointment to the bench, she served as a Court Attorney Referee for the Family Court of the City of New York in Kings County and Queens County, from 2002 to 2016.  Before that, she worked as a staff attorney for the Juvenile Rights Practice of the Legal Aid Society, rising through the ranks to become an Assistant Attorney in Charge and a Deputy Attorney in Charge.

Her memberships have included the Latino Lawyers Association, the American Bar Association, the Hispanic National Bar Association, the New York State Family Court Judges Association, the Puerto Rican Bar Association and the Latino Judges Association.

Currently Judge Negron sits and resides in Queens County, hearing Family Offense, Custody, Guardianship and Visitation matters. 

Judge Negron Co-chairs the NYS Advisory Council on Immigration Issues in Family Court.
