Hon. Lucindo Suarez

Hon. Lucindo Suarez attended Fordham University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Law. Upon graduation in 1976, he became counsel to a New York State Assembly member assisting with all aspects of legislation, community and constituency services, and political endeavors. Shortly thereafter he began his own general law practice representing moderate to low-income housing entities. He became a member and chairperson of Community Board 2 which covered the Longwood and Hunts Point sections of the Bronx. He taught for seven semesters as a voluntary faculty member at Malcolm King College. He also became a tenured Associate Professor at Bronx Community College teaching paralegal studies.

He was elected as New York City Civil Court Judge in 1993 and two months after taking office his first written decision on a contract action was published on the front page of the New York Journal. In 1995, he became a  New York County Supreme Court Justice. In February 2000, he was appointed Associate Justice to the Appellate Term, 1st and 12th Judicial Districts and was named Presiding Justice of the Appellate Term in 2002. He has been the Statewide Coordinating Judge for Summary Jury Trials since 2006.
